Prof. Dr. Yücel Namal, Head of the Department of History at the Teoman Duralı Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, attended as an invited guest the panel entitled “The Victory of Manzikert on Its 955th Anniversary,” organized by the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.

The panel began with an opening address by Prof. Dr. Burhanettin Duran, Head of the Directorate of Communications, and was moderated by Ambassador Prof. Dr. Derya Örs. Prof. Dr. Refik Turan, Prof. Dr. Güray Kırpık, and Prof. Dr. Cevdet Yakupoğlu participated as speakers and offered comprehensive assessments of the historical, political, and cultural dimensions of this momentous victory, which opened the gates of Anatolia to the Turks.

The panel highlighted the historical and cultural significance of the Victory of Manzikert, a landmark event that paved the way for Anatolia to become a Turkish homeland.
